it’s not that late,but your lily isn’t going to be very big,and most likely won’t bloom.if you got a hardy one,take it in some place to keep it out of the water,if there is a chance of the water freezing.you [...]
I would suggest none, and put the water lilies into pots, 3/4 full of potting mix with gravel on top to keep it in place.
That way you can add, remove, replace lilies as needed without messing up the pond.

The plant is a peace lilly. Its in tap water that gets a lot of light. Orgs = organisms if not already obvious.
if they are swimming in a jerky motion, they are probably mosquito larvae. I would doubt they are tadpoles unless you have tree frogs nearby.
Frogs will sit anywhere where they can get the opportunity to grab a mouthful of food. The other thing is also that there are frogs that are not totally reliant on water. For instance, some of the tree frogs here in Australia live in the desert areas. The Desert Tree Frog is [...]
