On May1st, a large lake contains only a single small lily pad. Each day the number of lily pads doubles, until on May 31st the lake is totally choked with vegetation. On what day was the lake half full?

The old ones die off after a while as new ones come up. Its a good idea to clip off the old ones and remove them as they will foul your pond.
