Buzz baits over lilly pads?

Can I toss a buzzbait over lilly pads with out getting it hung up?

You can, I have done it and have ended up some tremendous bass, because a lot of people do not fish near the pads because they have a fear of getting hung up on em. But yes if I were you I would certainly trow a buzz bait over the pads, some other good choices for lilly pads are a weedless plastic worm, a "Scum Frog" basically a weedless plastic frog, you could even give a jig and pig a shot but you might end up comming up with some sea weed with that one. Your Buzz baits are also good in spots like over aquatic growth like grass, hydrilla, and moss. Buzz baits are also fished commonly in areas like along the side of docks, in open water, down the bank, and through stumps or trees because they are so likely to trigger stirkes because they look like something a bass has never seen before. And the best times of the year to trough the buzz baits over the pads is in the spring and early summer. Good Luck ,Get some biggun’s

Probably. I have done it before i used one thats about 4 inches long and 2 inches high. Just make sure to keep it at a fast pace going over them. You can use any bait at a fast pace over lilly pads (besides top water crankbaits or any lure with 2 three pronged treble hooks). I throw all my plastic worms weedless over the lilly pads and get monster hits!! You can use it to catch largemouth and pickeral.

semi-professional Bass tournament angler, Fish buzz baits verry often and one of my favorite spots is a high vegetation lake with a lot of frogs and lilly pads.

  3. Yes you can, just keep the momentum up so the lure will not turn over and hook the pad. Another great lure is the frog, I use a Stanley Ribbit in red pearl color and rig it weedless. But the ultimate lure for the lily pads is a lure such as the Yum Dinger rigged weightless.Cast to the other side of the pads or on top of them and slowly let it drop off the pads and into the holes. Slow twitches and numerous pauses will produce strikes like crazy if the bass are feeding. So far this is the best lily pad bait I have ever used. And when Texas rigged it is virtually weedless.
