Which "Tummy Time" mat is the best?
I am pregnant and due in May, and I am trying to get everything together that I need for baby. My fiance and I are interested in buying a ‘tummy time’ mat, but aren’t sure which one to go with. I know it’s not a large purchase, but I was hoping that you moms (and dads) out there could give me your opinion or experiences. Which mat did you use? Did baby even use it that much?
Currently, we are sort of waffling between the Boppy one that looks like a lillypad and the Infantino surfboard one, but would be open to other suggestions.
I got three tummy time mats as presents when I was pregnent, and the only one my son LOVES and plays with is the Tiny Love Gymini Super Deluxe – Lights&Music. He loves the animals, grabs at the girraffe all the time (it was the first thing he started to grab at). The gym is very funtional, the handles can actually snap down very easily so we can have face-time with him without the toys in the way, and the music and lights are just an added awesome bonus.
The other two mats we got were ok, they were funtional, we keep one downstairs but he’s just never as interested in it, I have no idea why!!

I had the lilly pad with boppy ones, my babies enjoyed them
But you can always just use a blanket too.

i have the bright starts baby play place because it converts to all different activity mats, but for tummy time, we bought a skip hop play mat…it’s a lot bigger and I can sit or lay on it too with him, that’s pretty much where he plays. If your baby doesn’t like tummy time like a lot of babies do, it helps to be able to get down low with them…best of luck!

I have large foam square interlocking pieces, like a jigsaw.
I just put a blanket on there and put his toys around him.
You dont need a mat specifically for tummy time as they will be more interested in the toys you put on it, and this way you can change the toys so they dont get bored.
This is what I have…..

Its good as it will grow with him, he can use it when hes sitting up, crawling, etc…

OOH i like the boppy one that looks like a lillypad! It’s not overly priced so if it isn’t used, it won’t hurt your pocket too much.

honestly- a nice blanket that’s either think and soft or folded to make it that way. we got one of them and my daughter didn’t even play on it- huge waste of money.
